COLOURPOP: Authentic VS Fake

Welcome back Beauty Junkies! <3

Recently, I have been loving Colourpop liquid lipsticks.. The longevity is unreal and I love their formula. Especially the ultra satins, they are VERY comfortable on the lips! And it's only $6, super nice quality for its price.

But unfortunately, we cannot stop the factories that imitate EVERYTHING. Sobrang nakakalungkot. :(

Can you guess which one's fake?

My mom went to Divisoria last week, and I asked her if she can buy a FAKE one for me.
For the purpose of writing this blog and letting you guys know how the fake and authentic ones differ from each other.
Lalo na ung mga first timers na gustong bumili, pero walang ibang choice kundi bumili nalang sa online resellers dahil mahal ang international shipping + tax.

We should all be very careful when buying especially if you're not going to buy directly from their website. (colourpop.com)

So here are the pictures:

The fake one is a little bit shorter than the authentic one.

The letters should not be centered. Letters should be near the bottom/butt of the tube.

There should be a space from the mouth of the tube to the lid.

This one's the funny part! The fake one's shade should be spelled as "TRAP" not "TPAP". hahaha. So obviously, the fake one did not go through Quality Assurance.

The tube's mouth/opening should be clear/transparent, not white. And when you try to put in the wand back into the tube, you will feel that the fake one's mouth is tighter than the authentic one.

Can you see the hole near the applicator? The hole is bigger on the fake one.

Again, WRONG SPELLING. "Trap" not "Tpap".

The boxes are almost the same at first glance, but when you look very carefully, there is a difference with the letters. The letters on the fake are bolder/darker than the authentic one.

Always remember, when the PRICE is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, magtaka na kayo :)
Authentic Colourpop's price ranges from 370-450 here in the Philippines.

I hope this helps ladies!
Please be very careful when buying cosmetics/beauty products..
Super dami ng fake ngayon, so bili lang kayo sa trusted seller.

Thank you so much for reading my blog!

Hope to see you again soon!

Foundation Probs of an Acidic Girl (Solutions?)

Have you ever experienced an orangey or super pinkish face after an hour of putting on your foundation?

Girl, welcome to the club. You are ACIDIC.

This has been my dilemma eversince (the world begun).
I have super duper oily skin with yellow undertone so I always choose yellow based foundations.
BUT every friggin foundation I have tried turns orange or pink on me!
Which is soooooo frustrating. 😓

Here's an example:

These pictures were taken after I swatched my favorite drugstore foundations..

( Revlon Colorstay in Sand Beige - Milani Conceal Perfect 2in1 Foundation in 03 Light Beige - Loreal Infallible Pro Matte in 104 Golden Beige )

No flash

After an hour.. This is how they looked like.

They got pretty dark right? Milani is the one that oxidized the most (middle). Almost 2 colors darker na sya :(
Loreal Infallible, turned orangey. Then the Revlon Colorstay turned pinkish.

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. I HATE IT.
I HATE LOOKING LIKE AN OOMPA LOOMPA EVERYTIME I GO OUT. 😭
I HATE GETTING ORANGE STAINS ON MY SHIRT/BLOUSE. 😫

THE QUESTION IS, IS THERE A SOLUTION FOR THIS?

I can share some tips to make these foundations work. Yes, you can still try and put some more effort to make it work. Kasi sayang ang pera diba?

* PRIME your face - Use a nice primer. Find your holy grail primer that will help on preventing the foundation to oxidize.

Here are some primers that I use:
  • Banila Co Prime Primer in Matte
  • 3W Clinic Collagen Makeup Base
  • Skindinavia Primer
  • Mehron Skin Prep Pro
  • Milk of Magnesia
Remember, this is a trial and error. You really have to try them on so you'll know if it works on you because we all have different skin types. And every skin type reacts differently on some products.
It works on me but the foundation still oxidizes a bit. Priming also helps on controlling the oil which is better. Trying this step won't hurt!

* HIGHLIGHT - Use 1 or 2 shades lighter concealer to highlight certain parts of your face (under eye, bridge of the nose, forehead, and under your cheek contour). This will help on brightening your face and prevent the oompa loompa look.

* MIX - Mix your foundation with a lighter one.

And last but not the least, when all else fails..

* BUY A NEW ONE - Haha! Right? Buy 1 or 2 shades lighter than your skin tone if you are super acidic like me. You'll look like a "mumu" at first, but girl, you gotta try! Hehehe it'll oxidize anyway. And pleaaaaase do not forget to blend the foundation down to your neck.. Please?

Joking aside, I hope my tips will help you my Acidic Girlfriends!
Let's just accept the fact that this will happen most of the time and we just gotta make it work.

Thank you so much for reading my blog!

Hope to see you again soon!

MY OPINION ON THIS PALETTE:
I love it. For its price, it is a very nice palette. And for warm/neutral shades lovers out there, this is the palette for you! The matte shades can be a bit chalky when I swatched them, but when I used them on my eyes, they were great. Easy to blend, I did not have a problem with them. Just the right pigmentation I want from eyeshadows. And the glittery/foiled eyeshadows, OMG, yessss girl, they are PIGMENTED. In just one swipe, you will get a very good amount of pigmentation. But ofcourse, using your finger to swatch is a different story when using a brush.
The MORPHE brand does not have a physical store here in the Philippines. It is a US based company, they have a website and physical stores in the US. However, there are online resellers here in the Philippines where you can buy the palette, but on a higher price though.
For more details and products, you can visit their website: https://www.morphebrushes.com

Ooooohhh and here's the look I created using this palette :)
